So, last week I donated some of my time to the Bavarian Mountain Hound Society of GB to meet with their rescue coordinator Claire Russell and their newest friend they are helping Hunter.
Hunter is a 2 1/2-year-old Male Bavarian Mountain Hound who hasn’t had the best start to life. He is physically fit and healthy but he has been mentally scared which means he is frightened of everything new people, dogs, noises ect. Claire explained “We have had him for 3 weeks now and he has come a long way in such a short period of time. He needs someone who has time, patience and a lot of love and TLC.” Claire went on to say that “Hunter needs someone who is willing to come and meet him a few times so he can get to know you” Hunter needs a home where there are no small children and at the moment he has no confidence or independence so would suit an active home rather than a working home.
In the hour or two that I was there to photograph Hunter along with Claire’s own dogs, Hunter had changed from barking at me as I arrived to climbing onto my knee as we caught up over a coffee, and I even got kisses from him too! He’s obviously got good taste.
So I am telling you all this because Hunter is currently here in a temporary foster home until the right home comes forward for him and I would like to ask you to help in any way you can to help to give dogs like Hunter a new start. As the society is not able to be registered as a charity, they rely upon donations and fundraising to help to fund dogs like Hunter to give them the care and support that they need to be able to enjoy the rest of their lives.
So I ask if you can share the post to help raise awareness, have some thing spare to donate or would like to get involved in raising the awareness of societies like this, please contact myself or Claire directly at rescue@bmhs.org.uk
