Why is your customer Journey so important?
This week I attended a fantastic training all about having an amazing customer journey.
I would like to think that my clients past and present have experienced a smooth customer journey with me, I do my best but there is always room for improvement for sure. I have taken a few ideas from this that I will be adding to my business.
It was also interesting this week speaking to a client who said “oh I have my list of poses already listed out I just need you to turn up and take them”.So I thought I would write a blog to explain a little more about working with me.
Over the years I have spend £1000s on training courses for both my personal development and business development and this has really helped me to become the photographer and business owner I am today. From helping to put you at ease to helping you to write business plans too.
Now as much as I do photograph families, pets and some events my zone of genius and specialism is working with other women in business. I have specialised in personal branding photography and this is where my business is really coming alive (and me too!) I’ve found that all the development work that I have completed and continue to do really benefits my clients and the journey is so much more that just updating some headshots for their business.
From the initial call we will talk and explore your business, I can get to know you and you can ask me any questions to see if I am right for you. There are so many other photographers locally and nationally and I truly believe that there is the right one out there for you- so if at this stage we decide there is no connection then I can help to put you in touch with others. Throughout my journey I have realised that connection with each other needs to be there or we wont get the best from the experience.
Once we decide on which package or service you would like I will send across your booking form and invoice and full payment will be taken if your session is within 2 weeks (although I have about a 5 week waiting list over some days in the summer so please don’t leave it to the last minute) or we can split into instalments if you require with the balance due 2 weeks prior to your photoshoot.
Then the fun really begins!
I will then email you across my planning workbook where you will spend time reflecting on your business, thinking about what images you would like for each of the sections in the book and I will help you to set up a Pinterest board with your ideas and inspiration.
When you have completed this we will meet online or in person to talk through this and plan out your photoshoot. This will allow us to make a list of props, work out locations, talk through outfits and this whole process helps you to know that I am here to hold your hand through it all.
The week before your session and the days before there will be contact with reminders and the opportunity for you to ask any last minute questions and talk through anything that you need.
On the day of the photoshoot we will meet at your location and have a coffee and a chat and I will guide you through your personal branding photoshoot. Following this process from the beginning you already feel like you know me- I am not simply turning up with my camera and taking a few headshots. That works for some organisations I do get that but there is no personal touch in my opinion it really is just “rocking up and rattling through your session” and for me I don’t like working that way.
Following your photoshoot the communication continues. I will edit your images (I usually send a little preview within a couple of days as I get too excited) but the rest of your images for a branding session will be returned within 2 weeks, events will be around 6 weeks. You will be sent a link to download your images and you will be able to download the full size resolution file and a smaller file perfect for your social media/ blogs etc. I will also resize your gallery into square images too if you require this to use on your social media (and make sure they are cropped correctly too). At this stage I can also add logos to your images if you require this also. This is at no extra charge and all part of your editing process.
At this stage I also have other services that you can access including creating graphics for you for social media, visual audits, show reels but this is all tailored to you.
I am regularly in touch with my clients and often meet up with some in the area too. Connection is key and finding the right person for your business is so important.
Finally, a question I get asked ALL THE TIME…. How do I attract more of my ideal clients?
Well this is the million dollar question isn’t it- CONNECTION is my answer. Connect with your own tribe, show up online as you and let people get to know you- the person behind your business.
I am not suggesting you share everything about you but show up online in your images, let people see behind the scenes, some of your hobbies and when you are ready I am here to help you create all these images.
