Before the shoot

You do not need to have it all figured out first.

Part of my job is helping you prepare. We’ll talk through what the photographs need to do, what to wear, where to shoot and how to make the session feel like you rather than a performance.

What if I hate having my photograph taken?

You are very much not alone. I’ll direct you throughout, keep you moving and avoid leaving you wondering what to do with your hands. The aim is to make the session feel conversational rather than posed.

How do I know which package is right for me?

Think about how much variety your business needs. A mini gives you a focused refresh. The one-hour shoot creates a broader image bank. The three-hour shoot gives us room for multiple ideas, outfits, locations and a deeper brand story.

Where do the shoots take place?

That depends on the story we are telling. We can work at your place of business, a suitable hired location, outdoors, or across more than one location for a longer session. We’ll agree this in advance.

What should I wear?

Choose clothes that feel like you on a very good business day. I’ll help you think about colour, variety, layers and what will work across the locations and messages we have planned.

Do I need props?

Only if they genuinely help tell the story of your work. Useful props might include tools, products, notebooks, a laptop, books or anything you naturally use with clients. We won’t add things just for the sake of filling a frame.

Can you help me plan the shoot?

Yes. Planning is a core part of the process. We’ll think about the messages you need to communicate, the photographs you already have, what is missing and how the final images will be used.

Can I use the images on my website and social media?

Yes. Your finished brand images are created to be used across your business marketing. Any specific commercial or third-party usage requirements can be discussed before the shoot.

How quickly will I receive my photographs?

Your exact turnaround will be confirmed as part of your booking. If you have a launch, press deadline or other fixed date, tell me before we book so we can plan around it.

“Good preparation should make the shoot feel easier — not more complicated.”
